Review by Hawk Chavez
It does not surprise me that some of the best bands come from Finland. Here’s another super band, Finland’s Sonata Artica, originally formed in 1996, with their high energy guitars, tantalizing keyboards, and jaguar bouncing drums strong-set to get any soul stirred into an addictive adrenaline rush that will literally have you begging for more.
Having the incredible, powerful grey wolf as the bands’ mascot is a sign of great success for years to come. So far, Sonata Artica is succeeding at full throttle. Fans will get the best examples of this force in the tracks “In Black And White” and “The Vice.” Portimo’s drums and Liimatainen’s guitars battle along nicely with Kakko’s heavy melodic vocals.
Kakko proves he can take it down a notch or two (not too much) and show fans his softer side in the song “My Dream’s But A Drop Of Fuel For A Nightmare,” which is truly a remarkable job – well done.
