Review by Hawk Chavez

Metal can take on various forms, but I never thought it could be paired up with comedy. So when I received Pyschostick’s album The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride, my first thoughts were horrifying followed by amusement.

“Jolly Old Sadist” caught my interest first. There are a vast number of songs about Old Saint Nick and Christmas, most of them are hilarious and I can personally add this one to my favorites. There was one time I asked Old Saint Nick for a guitar and got something completely different and yes, I got the socks too…tube socks. The outrageous guitars and drums in this track are the sickest (that is a good thing) I have heard by far I do believe. Before the second note is struck my head is in frenzy.

I will end this review with my most favorite track, “Red Snow,” a rock metal twist on everyone’s favorite reindeer. Everyone picked on him but in the end, he turns out to be a legend. I lost count of how many times I listened to this track. Alex Preiss did the lyrics and music and by far what a great job. The instrumental chorus is phenomenal, picture Rudolph on a Harley-Davidson Fatboy S60 roaring down the 101 and you got one fierce reindeer taking control over the North Pole.
