Review by Hawk Chavez

The Danish group Mnemic are determined to create an unique musical path of their own. Quoting from their press kit, “Their vision, create something as heavy as death metal but dynamic in an unusual way.” It looks as if they have succeeded. One can get a clue from their name - Mainly Neurotic Energy Modifying Instant Creation.

I first heard of Mnemic in 2004 with their album The Audio Injected Soul. I am not too hooked into Industrial Metal but I was immediately impressed by their songwriting skills and power of thought, even though personally I do not think this album best compares to The Audio Injected Soul. Some instruments in Passenger were kicking yet I could not follow the lyrics. However I get that from their other albums and bands like Mnemic. Some musical critics are claiming that Industrial Metal bands are becoming tiring, if not ancient, and are heavily losing listeners. I do not think this is true. To the fans who are keen on Death Metal and all related genres, Death Metal bands are becoming greater in the new millennium.

Of course, my recommendations on this album would be the intense verve-grabbing edgy-rock “Electric I’d Hypocrisy” and the high explosive sounds of drums on “Pskyorgasm”. Then again, one can be mind-blasted by the song “In The Nothingness Black”.
