Review by Hawk Chavez
Raging out of Florida, 10 Second Drop delivers quite a punch with high-energy guitars, bass, hard-hitting drums and angry lyrics. These guys have something to say and they are going to shout it to you whether you want to hear it or not! However, it seems they used all their high energy on the first track “Always The Victim”; tracks that followed sounded like an aftershock effect. “Bitter Again”, “No Direction”, and “Fall Apart” appeared less edgy, while the drums and bass had more meaningful groove and the vocals were much calmer.
The band somewhat redeemed themselves with “Livin’ For Me” and “Learn”, tenacious drums, jaw gritting bass, guitars, and in your face lyrics. Still both tracks were about twenty-five percent less aggressive than “Always The Victim”. Nonetheless, I found myself getting into the emotions of these songs.
Rock Ridge Music, a label formed by Chris Henderson and Tom Derr of 3 Doors Down have signed the band, thus 10 Second Drop has the potential of becoming a well known band, they just need to acquire more notice other than radio station 98 ROCK and Miller Lite beer.
